There was a time when there wasn’t much happening on Route 66 just east of Albuquerque, out where the Sandias meet the Manzanos. Scrub brush, arroyos and a gorgeous view of the Rio Grande Valley was about the size of it. Then, in the late fifties, Four Hills was platted. It was planned around a lush 135-acre, 18-hole golf course, designd by Bob Baldock and built in 1959.
They kept the views intact.
Four Hills was Albuquerque’s second “Country Club” area, and the city’s elite flocked to the foothills here to enjoy the great golfing and magnificent views. The Albuquerque foothills
here began to embrace a community of spacious, luxury homes.
Today, residents of Four Hills still enjoy great views and golf with easy access to I-40 and the East Central Avenue shopping district. The Manzano/Four Hills Open Space is practically at your back door – great for hiking, biking, and riding. It’s also a quick trip into the city, and moments away from Kirtland Air Force Base and Sandia National Labs. If you’re looking for a luxury home, you do not want to overlook this community.
